Foundation of Professional Moving

Overview

Helping students to equip the basic moving knowledge and provide field work training. Only students finish and pass all the required course work and practicum can be graduated.

Goal & Objective

Goal¡G

The aim of the course is provide basic training for students learning professional knowledge in moving with field experience in order to prepare students to be a professional mover in Hong Kong. Difference skills such as knowing the basic tool, how to use them, wrapping skill, use of wooden skateboard, use of power, safe work and etc. Students may arrange to have field work in well established moving company in Hong Kong.

Objective ¡G

  1. With theories and field work, students may know more about the moving professional in H.K.
  2. Potential students may operate their own moving company after they gain experience ¡C
  3. Knowing the latest development in Moving professional.
  4. We provide all the tools and necessary material for students when they are trained in our school.

Hour
100 hours for course work and 1150 hours (around half year) for practicum.

Fee
HK$20,000 for whole course fee. It can be paid by installments. The first installment is HK$10000, the 2nd installment is HK$5000 (needed to pay on the first day of the fourth week of the semester) , the 3rd installment is HK$5000 (needed to be paid on the first day of the eighth week of the semester).

Practicum Allowance
During half year practicum, HK$200.00 each day will be granted to students for daily living allowance.

Future Career Path
Students can become a moving assistant, professional mover and mentor after graduation.

Course Content

Introduction of moving and knowing different tools
Student should understand moving professional is not a coolie, a labor in old generation. Professional mover should have professional image and self-respect. To show the professionalism by using those tools correctly.

Use of Body and Power
This is important for students knowing that moving is not get the job done by power, but using our strength and protect our physical with right position and gestures.

Safe work
Understand those traps may led to accident, and learning how to avoid and protect self and others in order to have a safe work environment.

Moving a flat in a high-rise building
Understand the arrangement and skill while moving a flat.

Moving old building with stairs
Understand the arrangement and skill while moving old building with stairs.

Moving a factory
Understand the arrangement and skill while moving a factory.

Moving an office
Understand the arrangement and skill while moving an office.

Moving a house
Understand the arrangement and skill while moving a house, especially the use of hanging-machine while moving to 3rd floor.

Moving difference kind of piano
Knowing difference kinds of piano such as U-1, U-2, U-3. How to wrap, disassemble and move a 3 legs piano.

Assemble and disassemble furniture
Including wardrobe, bookshelves, king-size, queen-size, bunk bed and etc.

Waste handling
Knowing the law of waste handling, legal place to unload and charge.

Compartment arrangement
Skills to arrange the compartment when loading the goods into the vehicle, how to maximize the use of the compartment.

Lorry and vehicles maintenance
Learning how to maintains the vehicles in a good condition, such as cleaning of engine, how to use the lifting platform safety.

Psychology of Personality
Knowing one self¡¦s personality and development, how to create a professional image which match one character.

Team Building
Knowing and using of Enneagram of Personality to build a positive, appreciative working environment in a team which in turn promoting a pleasure working attitude in life.

Communication Skill
Knowing that human being have a needed to being listen, and our customer do. How to listen to the hidden message is a must for student to learn.

Custumer Services
Knowing that we are in the post-modern world which service is our product, therefore, client-centered psychology will be introduced to student. How to use eye-contact, use of voice and body language to get the trust from your clients.

Crisis Management
Keeping calm and clear mind while crisis appear. Knowing the 5 steps to handle crisis and lead team members to a normal situation.

Professional image
As a professional mover, how to transform the idea from ¡§labor¡¨ to professional mover with a positive, polite, nice and helpful attitude.

Career path

Evaluation

Theories and practicum both have examination to evaluate each student¡¦s performance.

Learning Method

3 hours lesson includes theories and practice. The first hour will be teaching and the rest two hours will have practicum. Each student must hand in homework or finish all the required field work. Half year field practicum is also be evaluated. Mentor will be arranged and they will grade the performance of students. Satisfactory performance can be graduated and certificate will be granted.
